Next time you stroll your grocery store cleaning isle keep an eye out for the wide variety of cleaning products and solutions now available in environmentally friendly formulas. Non-chlorine bleach is now being offered utilizing hydrogen peroxide, sodium per carbonate or other plant based disinfectants as active their ingredients. Eco Friendly products also include all purpose cleaners, glass and surface cleaner, kitchen cleaners, shower, tub and tile cleaners, floor cleaning solution, carpet and upholstery cleaners, phosphate free dishwasher detergent, laundry detergent, stain removers, biodegradable vacuum bags, biodegradable trash bags and the list goes on. With such products growing in popularity their prices are coming down and becoming more and more competitive. In addition to using non toxic cleaning products here are some other measures to help you to be a greener cleaner: use low energy consuming appliances (i.e. vacuum, dishwasher, washer and dryer), use a broom to clean up small messes versus a vacuum, don’t leave water running when cleaning, use reusable towels over paper, avoid any aerosol products. All of these practices in combination with green products help to you to keep your house and the environment clean!
